In HDD operations, where trenches are drilled horizontally underground for various purposes like installing utility pipelines, high-yield bentonite is used as a lubricant and stabilizer to facilitate the drilling process and prevent collapse of the drilled hole.
High-yield bentonite is utilized in civil engineering applications for construction purposes. It is used in the preparation of slurry walls, which are used to control water flow in construction sites and to prevent water infiltration into excavations.
